Teeth as White as Snow - Teeth Whitening

Hello My Loves

I write this as my little newborn is asleep in his rocker.  Apparently newborns are meant to sleep for around 18 hours a day. Mine doesn't! My baby is wide awake for the majority of the day except for when I take him for a walk in his pram.  He likes to be propped up, looking at what is going on around him. I have quite a nosy baby it seems!

This as you can imagine makes doing basic every day tasks quite hard as he always needs to be fed, played with or his nappy changed. So I apologize for my blog being a bit neglected and comments not being replied to since I gave birth but apparently newborns change around Week 6 and life gets a little easier! In the meantime, thank you all for your comments, I read them all and really appreciate them and aim to reply to them all soon.

This blog post has been very much requested from my Instagram followers.  It's about how I whiten my teeth.  I never had yellow or extremely stained teeth, but over the years I have had slight stains on them from the usual, tea, coffee and just general eating and drinking really!  I did not want to spend a huge amount of money on professional teeth whitening as in Ireland its a couple of hundred euro at least.

After a lot of research, I found that Crest Whitening Stripes were highly recommended by a lot of bloggers. They cannot be bought in Ireland because of the amount of hydrogen peroxide in them so I buy mine on eBay from the U.S. The cost varies, but I usually get about 7 sachets of individual stripes for around €30.  These stripes are wrapped around the front and back of the teeth and kept on for 30 minutes.  After a few uses you should notice a difference.  I most certainly do.

A top tip for you all to make them last longer is to cut the strip in half so you get two uses per individual sachet.  I do not care if the back of my teeth are white because no one can see them, so I just make sure the front of my teeth are white.  This really is so much more cost effective for me.

I did not use them while pregnant so my teeth are not as white as they usually are for me to take a photo to show you but I will take a 'before' and 'after' photo and post it on my Instagram in a week or two when I have used up all my sachets so you can see the difference.

Have you any great teeth whitening products that are not ultra expensive or any tips?

Love, Mini

  1. Hi Mini, I am curious to see the before and after pictures! It's a great idea to use half of a strip :-). I'm happy to read that your baby is so nosy, that's so sweet!

  6. I've used these strips before and I like them as well. I love your tip to cut them in half to get two uses. So true that no one will see the back of your teeth! Babies need a lot of attention at first so just enjoy your time with him and blog when you can. We understand :)

  7. I have read really good reviews on these strips but never used them myself. I'm about to test Smile Brilliant whitening system so fingers crossed they will work on my teeth.

ps: Babies sleeping time differs, my little one was awake every two hours, stay awake for 2 hours and then sleep again. He was a nosy little one too and the curiosity continues until now and he's 18 months old. LOL! Don't worry about blogging, enjoy every second with your baby because they really grow up way too fast!

  14. Your baby sounds very alert, a great sign! As for the whitening strips, I think they're not approved for sale in the UK so I've never tried them

  19. That makes so much sense to cut them in half. I haven't used these products before but I use their whitening toothpaste and I've definitely seen a difference.

  24. For Teeth whitening, there are most suitable procedures offered for best results. Firstly you can choose for the home treatment where you would need to wear the light weight custom made trays with bleaching gel on your teeth everyday for 30 to 60 minutes every day for two to three weeks.
