Healthy Apple Crumble - Sin Free Desert

Hello My Loves

I want to share recipe with you  this absolutely delicious apple crumble that is quite healthy. Sometimes 'healthy' can mean 'taste free', but not in this case. My husband adores this and always asks for seconds, so I think that's a good sign!

1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees celsius.

2. Peel and chop 5 Brambley Apples/ Cooking Apples

3. Add 6 tablespoons of water and 5 tablespoons of Agave Nectar (a healthier alternative replacing sugar)

4. Simmer on a mid-heat for around 10 minutes or until the apple pieces are soft.  Once the apple is soft, place it in a deep oven-proof dish.

 5. Add a cup of wholemeal flour to a mixing bowl (how cute is my cup?!)

6. Add 5 tablespoons of sugar, normally I use brown sugar (healthier than white) but I was all out so I added some white.

7. Add 3 tablespoons of low fat butter and rub together with the flour until it becomes a fine mixture resembling breadcrumbs.

8. I like to add some raisins for texture and sweetness, but this is a personal choice. You could also add choc chips or almond flakes.

9. Add this mixture to the apple and place in the oven for around 25-30 minutes or until the crumble has a golden brown top layer

10. Serve with low fat yogurt to be a saint or some ice cream to be a sinner. Guess which one I decided to be?!

  18. This looks de-lic-ious! I'd leave out the raisins as I eat so many of those already on their own, but this is definitely a recipe for me to bookmark and enjoy sometime this Autumn :)
