How to Get Super Soft Hair

Hello My Loves

I have a confession to make. I am a hair addict! I am obsessed with my hair and keeping it in the best condition possible. Above is a pic of me getting my hair trial for my wedding and its one of my favourite pictures of my hair all done up! I have always had really long hair and so I am very familiar with what goes into keeping long hair in tip top condition.  I have a few pointers that I am happy to share with you all.

1. Use a Natural Shampoo

I changed from regular supermarket shampoo brands to natural and organic shampoo's a year ago and I really notice the different in the quality of my hair and my scalp.  My hair is shinier, healthier and in better overall condition than ever before. I think shampoo's that are not natural can tend to be a bit drying (I found this anyway). Natural shampoo's have less harsh chemicals and really works for my hair. My current fav is the Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo.

2. Condition, Condition, Condition

A good quality conditioner is essential for long hair. The ends can get dried from styling and so it is really important that a good conditioner is used.  I don't insist on a natural conditioner because I only put conditioner on the ends of my hair and not near my scalp.  I recently starting using this Argan Oil of Morocco Conditioner and it is fantastic. A little goes a long way and I love this. I really feel a difference in my hair since I started using it.

3. Choose the Correct Finishing Products

My hair is a little drier with pregnancy and so I switched up my finishing products to help make my hair softer.  I got this oil spray in Boots and I love it.  Its lightweight and so it doesn't weigh my hair down.  I apply it to damp hair and let it soak in.

4. Put Down the Hairdryer

I towel dry my hair and let it dry naturally. I let my hair dry naturally and I plait my hair during the week.  This way I get nice beach ways in it. I style it either with tongs or a straightener at the weekend if I am going to an event. I find walking away from the hairdryer really has improved the quality of my hair. I know some ladies are surgically attached to their hairdryers and the thoughts of not using it makes them feel panicky, but even if you can give a break from it once a week or once a month it will make a difference

5. Invest in a Good Hairbrush

I use the Denman hairbrushes after my lovely mammy told me years ago it was the best brush to use. Well not much has changed since then and I still use this brush.

What are your hair care tips? I would love to hear them.

Love, Mini
