Favourite Book for May

Hello My Loves

I am excited to do my first book recommendation for you all.  I am an avid reader and always have a book on the go, so it seems only right that I include any great books that I have read in my blog for you to enjoy too.

My favourite book for May has been The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.  This book is pretty big in size, but don't be put off by that.  I received it from Amazon and its really huge in hardback, but its such a great story you will fly through it.

I saw this on Tanya Burr's blog as one of her favourite books a while back and thought I would give it a go. I was not disappointed!

It is fiction and I want to be really careful what I write about it so that I don't give the plot away! Its such a great thriller and kept me turning the pages late into the night.

This young boy is a victim of an act of terrorism in which he looses his mother. He becomes orphan like as his father had deserted the family years earlier. This book is his story of survival as he tries to dodge going into a children's home and the book follows him right through to his adult years. We see him dealing with post traumatic stress and the influences (some good, some bad) of those that are in his lives.

I would give this an 8/10 and highly recommend.

Mini, xxx
