Heavenly Spa Day

Hello My Loves

I had the most wonderful experience this week that I am really excited to share with you all.  As you saw earlier this week on my instagram, I decided to take a day to myself and totally recharge my batteries and treat my body to some pampering.

You all know already how I run 5k 5 days a week on my lunch hour. Its nothing crazy but it keeps me fit, healthy and I find that it also clears my mind.  I also do powerlifting and weights 3 days a week.  As well as this, I am growing a human being in my belly so I feel like my body actually goes through quite a lot.

I eat healthy 80% of the time and I get lost of sleep and drink lots of lovely water (I am one of those people that actually loves the taste of water) so I do take good care of my body, but every so often I like to really pamper it.

The spa I went to is the Revas Spa in Adare, Co. Limerick.  It is part of the Woodlands House Hotel and it is just so nice there. I have been there before and was really impressed by it. I am fortunate that I have been to some beautiful spa's in 5 star hotels in Ireland and Europe and this spa is right up there with the best of them.

I booked in for a full body massage that was €85 for 55 minutes.  Before my treatment, I checked in with the lovely girls in the spa, I changed into a soft cosy robe and slippers and went to the swimming pool. I love to swim but haven't swam once pregnant and thought it would be a lovely gentle exercise for baby and me. Their swimming pool is large and very clean.

After my swim, I went back to the spa and had a nice shower to get all the chlorine out of my hair and body.  I then went for my treatment.  Niamh was my lovely therapist and she brought me into a dimmed room with a maternity pillow waiting for me on a bed. Soft relaxing music was playing and twinkly multi-coloured lights shone on the ceiling like stars.

Niamh was brilliant and really got the knots out of my shoulders where any tension or stress I have goes straight to!  She was so good and checked in with me to make sure I was alright mid massage.  I really felt like I was on cloud 9 after my treatment with her! I literally glided to the relaxation room!

The relaxation room is a circle of chill out beds with the thermal suite in the inner circle.  As I am pregnant, I was not allowed to use the thermal suite, but I have used it before and it is fab! Niamh put me on a lovely private bed and gave me some smoothie and some fruit skewers and told me to have a little nap for myself as she drew the nets around me.  She was just so caring, as were all the staff in there.

I still feel so great after the massage a few days later and will definitely try to make it a monthly occurrence!

Do you love spa days?  What are your favourite treatments?

Love, Mini
