Swinging Sixties on Valentines Day

Hello My Loves

I hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day whether you spent it with someone special or if you spent the day pampering yourself.

It was a special day for me and my husband (I still get a thrill writing that) as it was our first Valentines Day married.

I knew my hubbie had a special treat planned that day, so I got a hair cut and blow dry that morning. I actually got about 3 inches cut off my hair. My hair is sooo long and while I love long hair, it can be un-manageable at times, and make me look and feel like the Wild Woman of Borneo! I felt lighter coming out of the hairdressers and really pretty!

So, my lovely husband treated me to one of my favourite things to do which is afternoon tea.  We went to the famous Adare Manor Hotel in Limerick which is world renowned for its opulence and luxury.

We filled our bellies full of cakes, scones and little sandwiches while drinking tea (decaf for me) and coffee (for hubbie)

I wore a Topshop shift dress which I love as it has a real 60's, Jackie O style vibe to it with what looks like a separate skirt and top but is actually an all in one dress.

My hat, which disguises many a bad hair day, is from Topshop also.

I wore patent brogues from Monsoon.  And my big cape (which hides my bloated belly from all the cake) is from Oasis.

My bag is my current prized possession, my Valentino Rockstud Mini bag in red.

My sunglasses are Rayban Aviators, Polarised. The sun was shining that day and I could smell Spring in the air.

We went for a stroll in the manicured gardens after and just enjoyed the day together.

We were meant to go out for dinner at our favourite restaurant that evening, but unfortunately hubbie started feeling really ill in the evening (through absolutely no fault of the afternoon tea might I add).  He got a bug that I had a few days before and he got a high fever. So we got a takeaway that night and watched Sleepless in Seattle and we were both asleep early.

So I'm sorry you didn't get to see the outfit I had planned for that evening, but the next event I have in a few weeks, Ill post the outfit.

Did you do anything nice Valentines Day?

Love, Mini xxx
